아르헨티나 출신의 클래식 기타리스트 레오나르도 브라보는 아르헨티나 국립 음대에서 기타를 전공한 후, ‘로자리오 기타 협회 클래식 기타 콩쿠르’(1987), ‘모차르테움 산타페 클래식 기타 콩쿠르’(1989)등 유수의 클래식 기타 콩쿠르에서 수 차례 우승하며 국제 음악계의 주목을 받았다. 솔리스트로 미국, 유럽 그리고 아시아에서 활동하고 있는 레오나르도 브라보는 아르헨티나의 대표 음악인 탱고와 민속 음악을 선보이며, 민속 음악을 클래식 작품으로 승화시킨 대표적인 연주자로 인정받고 있으며 또한 그는 클래식, 현대, 바로크, 고대음악을 망라하는 다양한 실내악 앙상블과 함께 다양한 레퍼토리를 선보이고 있다. 전통적인 기타 레퍼토리에만 머무르지 않고 항상 고국 아르헨티나 음악을 적극 연주하고 있는 레오나르도는 계속해서 새로운 아르헨티나 음악을 발굴하는데 노력하고 있으며 작곡과 편곡에도 힘쓰고 있다. 1991년부터 2003년까지 로사리오 국립대학교 교수로 재직하였고 2003년 일본으로 건너가 연주자와 교육자로 활동했다. 교수로서 그리고 연주자로서 아르헨티나, 한국, 일본, 중국의 페스티벌에 참여했다. 레오나르도는 또한 2008년 2월 ‘다섯 개의 작은 소품’을 출판(포레스트 힐 에디션)했으며 이 작품은 규슈 국제 기타 콩쿠르, 미국 마샬 대학교와 런던 트리니티 음악원 입학시험에서 지정곡으로 사용되기도했다. 마샬대학교에서 Joan C. Edward's Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts 상을 수상했다. 2009년부터 도쿄 젠다이 기타 아카데미의 교수로 발탁되었으며 2010년 레오나르도 브라보 탱고 콰르텟(기타, 반도네온, 바이올린, 베이스)을 결성하였다. 같은 해 오사카 신포니홀에서 성공적인 리사이틀 데뷔를 하며 호평을 받았다. 이외에도 2013년 젠다이 기타에서 ‘레오나르도 브라보의 탱고 마스터피스’를 출간하였으며 2015년 CD도 함께 발매하였다. 최근에는 레코딩과 클래식, 라틴 아메리카 음악에 대한 칼럼을 젠다이 기타 매거진에 주기적으로 연재하고 있으며 솔로 콘서트와 다양한 앙상블 그리고 세계적인 반도네온 연주자인 료타 코마츠와 많은 공연활동을 하고있다

Leonardo Bravo is a Graduate in Music and Guitar from the Music department of the National University in Rosario, Argentina. He has developed an extensive career as a soloist, giving concerts and classes in the Americas, Europe and Asia. His repertoire extends from classical music to Tango and Argentine folkloric music. Leonardo Bravo received his degree from the School of Music of Rosario National University where he studied with Professor Ines P. de Zemp. He also attended several international courses, studying with many maestros including: Marlos Nobre (Brazil), Victor Villadangos (Argentina), Eduardo Isaac (Argentina), Jose Luis Rodrigo (Spain), Abel Carlevaro (Uruguay). He won first prizes in many prestigious classical guitar competitions.
Leonardo is also involved in many chamber music ensembles, including flute and guitar, voice and guitar, guitar duo, guitar and marimba, guitar and Koto, guitar and Bandoneon, In addition he has participated in groups playing ancient music and has performed guitar concertos (Guitar and Orchestra). He has also played with groups specialized in traditional argentine music Folklore and Tango.
Leonardo's concerts always include music from his homeland, and this repertoire is becoming increasingly important to him. He is continually searching for new Argentine music and working in his own compositions and arrangements.
In 1991 he was appointed Professor of Guitar at Rosario National University, Where he is acknowledged for the quality of his teaching, being many of his students are well known in the national and international scene.
In 2003 he moved to Japan, continuing his work and as a teacher and as a performer playing with many well known musician as Shin Ichi Fukuda, komatsu Ryouta, etc, and the prestigious National Philharmonic Orchestra of Japan.
In 2006 made different recitals in South Korea, which were broadcasted throughout the country.
In February of 2008 “Forest Hill Edition” published his composition “5 Little pieces” (Trees, Men and the river) This piece was chosen as a mandatory piece in the “Japan, Kyushu Guitar Contest”
From 2009 he was appointed by the “Gendai Guitar” as a Professor of its “Gendai Guitar. Music Academy”,Tokyo. Where besides teaching he also make recordings and write articles dedicated to the Classical and Latin American Music for the “Gendai Guitar Magazine
